Abstract

This report evaluates the economic impacts of proposed New Mexico solid waste regulations, estimating compliance costs for landfills, recycling and composting facilities, transformation facilities, and infectious waste generators throughout the state. The report compares compliance costs with potential environmental remediation costs and assesses how regulatory requirements could affect communities of different sizes, particularly rural areas with small landfill operations.
