Abstract
This report evaluates the tourism economy of the Taos area and explores opportunities for the Taos Pueblo to increase participation in and benefit from regional tourism through tribally owned businesses, cultural attractions, recreation services, and development of the Rio Grande Gorge. Author Philip Reno analyzes tourism markets, Pueblo resources, visitor patterns, and long-range economic development strategies designed to generate employment and income while preserving Taos cultural traditions and natural resources.
