Abstract

In this firsthand account, University of New Mexico professor Virginia Reva reflects on five years of work with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) providing office management and secretarial training in Latin America. Drawing on experiences in ten countries, she discusses business practices, workplace culture, management challenges, economic development, and opportunities for stronger commercial and educational ties between the United States and Latin America.
