Abstract
This report analyzes Raton’s shifting labor market following the end of coal mining, identifying emerging opportunities in tourism and coalbed methane extraction while documenting significant skill gaps, aging workforce trends, and over 170 current job vacancies. It emphasizes the need for expanded education, training, and coordinated community action to align labor supply with future employer demand.
