Abstract
This thesis will begin with a brief introduction to work which was begun in 1975. I will then discuss the use of maps in my work, first as metaphor, in relation to recent drawings, and second, concerning the symbolic sense in which they are used in my paintings. Finally, I will discuss the use of various map projections in the most recent work, concluding with observations on the nature of geometry and organization.
