Abstract

The object, as we know it in actual, physical form, has long been a source of visual, emotional, ad sensual interest to me. I have been involved with making drawings from or about various objects and materials for a number of years. The work done during my M.A. program at the University of New Mexico has clarified the importance of the object to myself and to my work, and helped me to define the sources of intrigue within the object -- visually, emotionally and sensually. This thesis is a discussion of the sources for the drawings, my methods of working, and the image which result.
