Abstract
In El Paso County, Territory of Colorado, a charter was filed on February 17, 1874, creating a corporation called "The Colorado College." The charter stated that the object of the corporation was "to locate and maintain at Colorado Springs under Christian auspices an Institution of learning on the College or University Plan." Thus the Colorado College came into being.
