Abstract

A proposal to use the 50th Anniversary celebration of Instituto Brasileiro de Informaç\xe3o em Ci\xeancia e Tecnologia (IBICT) at the Second Annual ISTEC/FAPESP (Fundaç\xe3o de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de S\xe3o Paulo) Digital Libraries Workshop at UNICAMP in May 2005 to make a global announcement that Brazil has joined in the Berlin Open Access Accord. Plans are presented for actions and why this is important.
