79) It is always quite an honor to be the porta-bandeira and carry the school's flag and colors. Following her comes the various alas (rows) such as the baianas (women from Bahia which represent the African origins of carnaval), various floats and passistas (samba dancers). Each year the school presents a theme, composes a samba song and dance choreography to accompany it.79) É sempre uma honra ser porta-bandeira e carregar as cores e a bandeira da escola. Seguindo-a, vem as diversas alas, como a das baianas (mulheres da Bahia que representam a origens africanas do carnaval), vários carros alegóricos e passistas. A cada ano a escola apresenta um tema, com um samba enredo e uma coreografia para acompanhá-lo.
