Description

The tall araucária pine tree is characteristic of much of the vegetation in the Serra Geral. Much of this original forest, characterized by its tall araucária pine trees as well as imbuias (Brazilian walnut trees), has been cleared for agriculture, though in the higher altitudes some of the original vegetation has been preserved.O grande pinheiro de araucária é característico da vegetação da Serra Geral. A maior parte desta floresta, que é caracterizada pelos altos pinheiros de araucária e imbúias (nogueira brasileira), tem sido derrubada para a agricultura, sendo melhor preservada na partes mais altas.
