The present study is an attempt to obtain a measure empathic ability, and to investigate its relationship to an instrument of personality measurement, the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory. The immediate problem under study is whether or not there is some differentiation among the MMPI scales for persons who show wide differences in this empathic response.
