Long-Term Monitoring and Maintenance Plan for the Mixed Waste Landfill

Abstract
This Long-term Monitoring and Maintenance Plan (LTMMP) describes how the United States Department of Energy (U.S. DOE) and Sandia Corporation (Sandia), hereinafter referred to as the DOE/Sandia, will meet the long-term monitoring requirements for the Mixed Waste Landfill (MWL). This plan describes the necessary physical controls and institutional controls (ICs) to be implemented, the maintenance and monitoring activities for the cover, and the frequencies at which they will be conducted. These activities will be performed to ensure that the MWL vegetative soil cover and biointrusion barrier will perform as designed and will continue to protect human health and the environment.
