Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
Abstract
Institutional bibliometric profiles report Lotka's exponent, a Bradford core and a Price ratio as if they were properties of the institution. They are properties of the institution together with three decisions that the reporting almost never states: which source defines the corpus, which document types are compared, and which population of authors the laws are fitted on. This article measures what each decision is worth, using Universidad Bernardo O'Higgins (UBO, Santiago, Chile) as the case and Universidad Bolivariana del Ecuador as a control. Since the resulting uncertainty is not sampling error, we give it a place to be reported: a neutrosophic (T, I, F) reading of an institutional profile.
