Abstract

Statement of the problem. It is the purpose of this study (1) to investigate the feasibility of employing a feedback pair instead of a shunt-peaked video amplifier in a typical circuit application; (2) to determine the steady-state gain ratio between a feedback pair and a single shunt-peaked video amplifier having the same edge response (rise time and overshoot) and to analyze the effect of varying either the rise time or overshoot of both circuits upon this ratio; (3) to make a limited study of the steady state gain ratio of a feedback pair and a cascade of two shunt-peaked video amplifiers having the same age response and to determine what effect the varying of either the over-all rise time or the over-all overshoot of both circuits has upon this ratio; (4) to establish data which can be used to facilitate the design of these two circuits or to serve as the bases of comparing their steady-state gain ratio for a given edge response.
