Abstract

This report presents the results of a statewide survey of New Mexico residents conducted to measure participation in outdoor recreation activities and to project future recreation demand through 1990. Using telephone and personal interviews, the study analyzes recreation preferences, participation rates, travel patterns, facility needs, and projected demand for outdoor recreation activities to support updates to New Mexico’s Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan.
