Abstract

This report constructs a state-level income-and-product accounting model to measure New Mexico’s Gross State Product (GSP) for the benchmark year 1954. Published as a localized adaptation of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s national framework, the analysis utilizes a value-added approach across major industry sectors to map the state’s complex transactional flows, detailing a total GSP of $1,433 million heavily underpinned by robust extractive mining and federal military expenditures.
