Abstract

This report evaluates the socioeconomic and commercial feasibility of establishing a centralized handcrafted wood furniture manufacturing enterprise across north central New Mexico. Conducted in tandem with the U.S. Forest Service, the study designs a multi-phased business model ("Mountain Village Crafts, Inc.") that leverages a decentralized rural artisan labor force backed by a centralized processing and marketing hub to demonstrate strong profit-sharing capabilities and an estimated post-tax return on investment between 8% and 23%.
