Abstract

This evaluation examines the FY 1978 Selective Traffic Enforcement Program in Roswell, New Mexico, which focused on reducing alcohol-related traffic incidents through targeted patrols. The study found a reduction in property-damage accidents and a positive cost-benefit outcome, but no significant reductions in alcohol-related crashes, injury accidents, or associated criminal activities.
