Abstract
The report analyzes the county’s geography, history, population trends, housing conditions, education, health care, welfare programs, employment structure, income levels, agriculture, transportation, and community development challenges. Meaders portrays Torrance County as a largely rural region facing persistent economic difficulties characterized by population decline, limited industrial development, relatively low incomes, and heavy dependence on agriculture and government employment.
