Abstract
The report examines population trends, employment, income, agriculture, transportation, tourism, public services, education, health care, government finance, business activity, and long-term development prospects in a county situated along New Mexico's eastern border. Emphasizing both historical development and contemporary economic conditions, the study portrays Quay County as a diversified regional center whose economy combined ranching, irrigated and dryland agriculture, transportation, trade, tourism, and growing industrial activity.
