Abstract
It was the purpose of this study to photograph and catalog the churches of central Cholula; to find what stylistic groups and local motifs are characteristic of the area; to determine, insofar as possible, the chronological distribution of these churches through the centuries of the colonial period; to discover the geographical distribution of the monuments in the area immediately around the city and to relate this to such data was obtainable on the population distribution and urban development of the area today and in the past.
