Conversation with family members about working the land, animals, bailes, los músicos, faith and religious practices, community practices: neighbors helping each other. The custom of madrugar [getting up at the crack of dawn], antes la gente joven ayudaba con el trabajo del campo ahora nadie trabaja en la tierra. Helping with chores in the ranch, views on marriage relations: wife and husband's roles, politics of employment, youth's use of marihuana, poor quality of education in Córdova and Truchas, and the consequences of poor education such as problems of alcoholism and drug use, problems to get a good job (e.g., favoritism and nepotism in employing substitute teachers in Córdova).
