Abstract
The process of educational policy making has received increased attention as sharper criticism has been directed at educational policy both from within and outside the educational profession. Although there is a long history of research on policy making in education, much of the recent work has grown out of the emphasis by political scientists on leadership and decision-making at the community level. New Mexico is no exception. With one recent exception, little research is now available on policy making in New Mexico education.
