Abstract
In 1969 the faculty of the University of New Mexico (UNM) app oved a proposal for a new degree program submitted by the Committee on the Enhancement of the Educational Process (CEEP). The new degree, entitled t11e Bachelor of University Studies (BUS), would be a non-traditional degree with few of the structure that characterized existing degree programs at UNM. The BUS would give students the option of developing unique, interdepartmental, and intercollege degree programs that could not be formulated in any other degree-granting colleges of the University.
