Abstract
It is shown in this work that whereas any causal function (i.e., any function with a definite starting point) is non-bandlimited and thus would be thought to require an infinite sample rate, there is an infinite class of causal functions (identified as "regionally bandlimited functions" (r.b.f.'s)) for which a finite sample rate is adequate.
