Abstract

This recording was made by Donovan Senter and Florence Hawley Senter (later Florence Hawley Ellis) on January 4, 1945. It features Mike Reyna, of Taos Pueblo, and Paul Toya, of Jemez Pueblo, singing a traditional native song, with drum accompaniment, and with an added refrain in English about sending soldiers overseas to bomb Berlin during World War II. It is part of an album called "Pueblo Indian Songs 1945" recorded by the Senters.
