Church tower of the Carmelite convent of Descalças, now the Museum of Sacred Art. Although there is a local saying that Salvador has 365 churches, one for every day of the year, only half that number actually exist. Whatever the actual numbers, one cannot help to be impressed by the variety and splendor of Salvador's colonial heritage.Torre da igreja do Convento das Carmelitas Descalças, atualmente o Museu de Arte Sacra. Embora um ditado local diga que Salvador tem 365 igrejas, uma para cada dia do ano, realmente apenas a metade deste número existe. Qualquer que sejam os números atuais, ninguém pode deixar de se impressionar com a variedade e esplendor da herança colonial de Salvador.
