17) The Arcos da Carioca aqueduct and in the background is the church and convent of Santa Teresa. The aqueduct was completed in 1750 and provided Rio de Janeiro with a regular water supply. It is 64 meters high and 270 meters long.17) O aqueduto dos Arcos da Carioca e, ao fundo, a igreja e convento de Santa Teresa. O aqueduto ficou pronto em 1750 e abastecia o Rio de Janeiro com um suprimento constante de água. Tem 64 metros de altura e 270 de comprimento.
