An industrial zone in northern Sao Paulo. Large percentages of such sectors of the economy as the petroleum and mining industries, railroads, or public utilities have been controlled by the state. Efforts in the early 1990s now have been made to privatize many of the state owned firms.Uma zona industrial ao norte de São Paulo. Grandes percentagens de tais setores da economia, como o petróleo e mineração, ferrovias ou utilidades públicas, têm sido controladas pelo estado. Esforços no início dos anos de 1990 têm sido de privatizar muitas das empresas estatais.
