Abstract
The purpose of this report is to explain my work with electro-mechanical light switching as a means of visual expression. This work extends over the period, June, 1968, to June, 1969, and is in the form of five experiments. I consider switching light as an art medium, and, rather than works of art, these experiments are investigations of the possibilities of this medium. As an introduction to the experiments, my previous studies in art, both on the graduate level at the University of New Mexico and on the undergraduate level at Brown University, are reviewed. At the end of the report, my plans for future studies are presented.
