Abstract

This paper is concerned mainly with the portion of the ceramics which came from beside and within the pyramid of the Temple of the Inscriptions, one of the major structures in the central area of Palenque. It was inside this pyramid that a rich and unique tomb was found in 1952. The opening of the sealed tomb, which lay at the bottom of a long interior staircase, has been described in several articles.
