Abstract

This thesis investigates the interest of Great Britain in the affairs of one of her colonies as it passed through a crucial period. It has made some attempt to analyze the motivation for what could be termed either guidance or interference, depending upon the imperialistic orientation of one's thinking. In point of time, the study covers roughly the first half of the year 1904.
