The author's aim in this thesis, has been to trace the history of Oldman County through a period of about sixty years, noting the various changes in its economic life. The present stock farming and wheat culture era was preceded by several decades of ranching, which in turn was antedated by the Indian period. Historians in the future, will tell the story of the breaking up of the large farms and ranches into smaller units to provide farms for our increasing population.
