Abstract

It is the purpose of this study (1) to present an overview of current practices in the teaching of world understanding in the upper elementary grades; (2) to examine the role of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in the area of world understanding; and (3) to recommend methods of implementing this role at the grade levels indicated.
