Abstract

It is the purpose of this study to determine the legal status which has been accorded to city school superintendents and county school superintendents in the several states, to compare the status of one with that of the other, and to evaluate each in the light of the recommendations of authorities in educational administration. Emphasis will be placed upon the provisions of the New Mexico Statutes relative to the status of county school superintendents and city school superintendents.
