Abstract

It is the purpose of this study to inquire into the after-school status of these Ives Scholars and to determine the benefits derived by these from the assistance given. Byron H. Ives, founder of the trust fund yielding the scholarships, intended that women receiving the aid should teach; it is reasonable to check the extent to which this desire has been accomplished. This study intends to show, further, whether or not a careful selection of those receiving scholarships would be justified.
