Description

Tying together tobacco leaves on a plantation in the Reconcavo region. As a result of the slave trade, tobacco also became an important crop in the Rec6ncavo region. The best quality tobacco was sent to Europe, but large quantities were reserved for trade in Africa to trade for slaves. The Bahian planters dominated the tobacco trade for many years.Amarrando as folhas de tabaco em maço, numa plantação da região do Recóncavo. Como resultado do tráfico de escravos, o tabaco também se tornou uma importante produção na região do Recóncavo. O tabaco de melhor qualidade era enviado para a Europa, mas grandes quantidades eram reservadas para negociar com a África o tráfico de escravos. Os plantadores baianos dominaram o comércio do tabaco durante muitos anos.
